We packed up from KL and headed to Chiang Mai today. Chiang Mai is a 2hr 40 min flight and is in Northern Thailand.
After the last flight I was dreading getting on a plane with Woody, but he was fantastic! He had a nap but mostly looked out the window and played with the seatbelt.
I never get tired of a view like this!
We are in Chiang Mai! It is a bit bigger than I had imagined but shares so many elements of some of my favourite SE Asia stops. We are staying just outside the old town which reminds me of Siem Reap and all the little sois remind me of HoiAn in Vietnam. Our
accomodation reminds me of Mui Ne in Vietnam, nice little pool area and balconies to sit and watch the sunset. We went walking down our soi and found a little place to have some dinner. We chose three dishes from the picture menu and were thrilled with the taste and being able to watch the meal be cooked. Woody loved his first street food meal of chicken, rice and vegies. Dinner came to a total of $4. After dinner Coop and Andrew went for a quick tuk tuk explore while the other two kids showered and fell asleep. Big Day and we cannot wait to explore more of Chiang Mai tomorrow!

I was also surprised at how big Chiang Mai is. Glad all is well and nice to revisit Thailand through you.
