Today I thought I would share something Cooper did that really reflects that intellegence is all about problem solving.
As part of Coopers Cerebral Palsy it really affects his speech clarity. He loves to talk and talks alot but it is really unclear and you have to really concentrate to follow his conversation. I understand pretty much everything he says but often I will miss a word and not be able to make sense of where the conversation is headed.
Cooper was trying to tell me something on Friday about being part of the "Olympic........" something" at school.
I just could not get the word he was trying to say.
I rattled off a few words to be met with eye rolling and grunts.....he is seven after all!
"Mum it starts with a C.".....so I say Olympic -Club, cool, cliche,.....
Still not getting it, hes getting pretty annoyed at this stage.....there is more frustation and laying his head on the table.
"It starts with a C and is on an aeroplane.....you know the group of people working on the plane!"
" oh you mean the crew?!"
Yes Mum I was part of the Olypic CREW at school today. Maddie, Ryder and I we all dressed the same in Green and Gold!
I just love how he uses his problem solving skills to share a conversation with me. He always figures his way around everything!
Cooper has also been nominated for a Pride of Australia Award and was featured in three Melbourne newspapers in Early July. Click here to read all about it.
